The DISCStyles Assessment is an easily administered 30-item assessment which includes the use of three interpersonal settings to maximise contextual authenticity (work, home, social). Each of the three standard interpretive graphs are plotted enabling a complete view of the respondents' preferred style, and since the DISCStyles Assessmentcan be completed in only 10–15 minutes so the participants gain valuable time for individual coaching sessions or group discussions.
Think about your interactions every day
Have you succeeded spectacularly with one person, only to hopelessly ‘bomb out’ with somebody else later in the day? We all have at one time or another and probably try to shrug it off. However, things do not have to be that way. Nearly every contact with every person in all areas of your life can be a success–if you know how to make it happen.
With the DISCStyles Assessment, they still have the tools to be successful. The assessment will not only help them behave more maturely and productively by teaching how to focus on goals instead of fears. This develops the use of natural strengths, while recognising, improving upon, and modifying limitations. This assessment does not deal with values or judgements. Instead, it concentrates on natural tendencies that influence behaviour.
Historical as well as contemporary research reveals more than a dozen various models of our behavioural differences, but many share one common thread: the grouping of behaviour into four basic categories. This assessment focuses on patterns of external, observable behaviours using scales of directness and openness that each profile exhibits (see below). Because we can see and hear these external behaviours, it becomes much easier to ‘read’ people. The model is simple, practical, and easy to remember and use.
Dominant–Tends to be direct and guarded
Interactive– Tends to be direct and open
Steady– Tends to be indirect and open
Cautious– Tends to be indirect and guarded
