The use of the word climate is appropriate. We know how great an effect the weather has on our mood and, hence, our productivity. So it is with organisational climate. . . it affects every employee.
This 60-item assessment measures employee attitude on factors such as clarity of goals, advancement, working relationships, and management. The resulting bar graph identifies areas of strength and weakness and thus helps managers generate a focused action plan. Survey results can act as a benchmark against which the results of improvement efforts can be measured.
Scoring and Interpretation
After completing the questionnaire, participants convert their Climate Survey scores into a bar graph that visually portrays the strengths and weaknesses of their own psychological climate. They might find most meaningful if other colleagues also complete the the survey. Bar graphs can then be compared and perceptions and feelings toward work can be discussed.
It may be also useful to repeat the exercise in a year or so, since the organisation and their expectaions are in constant flux.
